Supporters of Pittsburgh Public Schools’ embattled incoming superintendent urged the Pittsburgh Public Schools board to stand by its pick.
Dozens of residents spoke about the new superintendent at the School Board’s monthly public hearing, and a majority said they supported the decision to hire Anthony Hamlet and praised the process the Board used to select him.
“There should be no apprehension about your decision,” said Thomas Young Jr., one of several speakers who represented PIIN. “Dr. Hamlet will be a powerful superintendent for our public schools.”
