Workforce Development
PIIN spearheaded the awareness statewide of federal laws that enable pre-apprentice screening and training for minorities, women and persons in poverty in federally subsidized construction. After receiving commitments from Gov. Rendell, we are starting a process to place agreements for training and local hiring in PennDOT requests for proposals for projects. Developing not just jobs, but careers is our purpose.
