Holy Ground

"So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, 'Moses, Moses!' And he said, 'Here I am.' Then He said, 'Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.'" - Exodus 3:4-5

No one is better positioned to bring positive values back to our communities than the churches, temples, and mosques in our communities. Inspired by Exodus 3:4-5 Pittsburgh Interfaith Impact Network launches it’s Holy Ground Campaign for Summer/Fall 2009.

"Wherever the people of God walk, live and work is Holy Ground because therein lies the presence of God. Therefore it is our obligation to keep it holy and we do so through organizing."

The Holy Ground campaign is an effort by the Pittsburgh Interfaith Impact Network to have our member churches, temples, and mosques be powerful and effective stewards of our communities, building a base for change, and to creating a strategy to impact our communities spiritually, socially and economically.

Now is the time to join together to organize our congregations and communities and mobilize them into action to take back the neighborhoods around our places of worship and reclaim the lives of our young people - of all people - as sacred.

Join Us at Grace's Holy Ground Action - Tuesday, August 31 at 6!

The Holy Ground Campaign is underway!  Valley View Presbyterian Church had nearly 200 people at their action on Friday, August 13 to address the gun violence in Garfield & East Liberty.

It's time for more Holy Ground action!

Come support Grace Memorial Presbyterian Church at their Holy Ground action next Tuesday, August 31 at 6pm at Grace Church!  1000 Bryn Mawr Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.  They will be engaging the City of Pittsburgh to address the disparity in the amount of City resources the Schenley Heights area in the Hill is receiving.

We need your support!  Plan to come & spread the word!
