Civil Rights for Immigrants (CRI)
The PIIN CRI Taskforce is working both nationally and locally to fix the current immigration system. On a local level, we have worked with our local police department to create an Anti- Racial and Ethnic profiling policy that would protect the many immigrants who live in the shadows. Nationally, PIIN has played a role in building support for workable comprehensive immigration reform.
In 2010, PIIN CRI has mobilized a campaign to get immigration reform this year! In January of 2010, we collected over 1,500 postcards in support of immigration reform that will be delivered to our members of congress. In January and February we held vigils throughout the city in memory of the families that have been separated by a broken immigration system. In March, we took two buses of people to participate in the March for America rally that called for immigration reform to be passed now!
Our CRI meetings are held every second Tuesday of each month at the PIIN office.
