Civil Rights for Immigrants

Civil Rights for Immigrants (CRI)

Nationally, PIIN CRI leaders have been instrumental in pushing for comprehensive immigation reform in the US Congress.  Statewide, PIIN-CRI received a commitment from Gov. Rendell to veto any legislation which would diminish the civil rights of immigrants.  Regionally, CRI has set a goal for 2007 of having the City of  Pittsburgh and the County of Allegheny create policies that (1) secure the civil rights of all immigrants and (2) assures services for all resident immigrants.
